Assessment Appeal Assurance insures clients against the associated costs of hiring a tax agent. Surprise assessments are part of real estate transactions. Assessment Appeal Assurance lowers the cost to fight tax assessments on a purchase of real estate on the open market. We call it property tax appeal insurance.

Tax agent fees can run as much as 50% on a contingency basis and in the high thousands on a per case basis, depending on the property type and company. The average commercial agent appeal fee is approximately $3,500 (without Assessment Appeal Assurance).

Assessment Appeal Assurance mitigates potentially high and unknown costs associated with pursuing over-assessment of property. Assessment Appeal Assurance also gives associated businesses a marketing tool to attract and retain clients.

Assessment Appeal Assurance is good for three years from the recording date of the subject property sale and applies to appeals for base year value (date of purchase). Assessment Appeal Assurance is for property located in California. Assessment Appeal Assurance is available for all property types including commercial, industrial, residential and land. An additional out of area fee of $500 per property is billed in advance, for property located in Northern California.

To offer your clients Assessment Appeal Assurance benefits, you will have to enroll your firm in Assessment Appeal Assurance under a monthly subscriber plan. There are two different Assessment Appeal Assurance plans available. Below are rates for southern California property.

The basic monthly plan of $975, entitles subscriber to a low fixed cost of $500 per case, (payable in advance of case filing).

A high volume monthly plan of $1,950 entitles subscriber to zero cost per case and representation of up to 12 cases per year. A $500 fixed case cost (payable in advance of case filing), for cases number 13 and above, for the balance of the year.
